Prior to becoming the Fenwick Island Surf Shop, the store opened in 1968 as Clearlight Surf Shop by Bill Helmuth. In 1983 the name was changed to the Fenwick Island Surf Shop and has since been owned by local surfer Ken Roughton. Local’s favorite surf shop since 1983 carrying various brands such as: Billabong, Quiksilver, Quiksiliver Girls, Roxy, Rip Curl, Hurley, O’neill, Rusty, Reef, Rainbow, Sanuk, Wave Riding Vehicle, Hot Buttered, Byrne, Gordon Smith, Global Surf Industries, Custom X, Moorey, BZ, Toobs, Congo, Dragon Sunglasses, Native Eyewear and more.
